What Our Sunnyvale Movers Handle

Every service below runs in Sunnyvale. Pick the ones you need and the job is built around them.

Residential Moving

Our residential movers in Sunnyvale handle everything from studio apartments to four-bedroom houses. Much of the city south of El Camino Real is single-story ranch and mid-century stock, which loads differently from a stacked apartment building. We pad furniture, protect floors and doorways, and rebuild beds, tables, and wardrobes at the other end.

Local Moving

Local moving covers jobs inside Sunnyvale and short runs to neighboring cities. We confirm gate codes, garage clearances, and where the truck can legally sit before the date is locked, because that answer changes street by street here.

Commercial Moving

Commercial moving serves offices, R&D suites, and lab space, including the campuses in Moffett Park and the Peery Park district. We handle modular workstations, network and server equipment, and file storage. Multi-truck jobs run when one load will not clear the floor.

Packing Services

Packing services cover kitchens, wardrobes, electronics, and art. Book full packing, hand over only the fragile rooms, or pack yourself and leave the transport to us. We prepare glassware, screens, and framed pieces differently.

White Glove Moving

White glove delivery covers designer furniture, high-end appliances, and pieces that need exact placement. Items are padded, set where you want them, and installed, with packaging taken away before we leave. We coordinate directly with interior designers and property managers when a project calls for it.

Home Staging

Home staging supports agents, designers, and owners preparing a Sunnyvale property for listing. We move and place furniture for a single room or an entire house, protect the floors while we work, and take everything back out on your schedule.

Receiving Services and FFE Installation

Receiving services and FFE installation give designers and builders one point of contact for furnishings and fixtures. We receive, inspect, inventory, and hold items in the warehouse, then deliver and assemble them at the site. This runs for offices, hospitality spaces, and luxury residences.

Senior Moving

Senior moving covers downsizing and transitions into smaller homes or care communities. We help with sorting, packing, and the move itself, at a pace that suits the household. Families hand over as much or as little of the sorting as they want.

Long Distance Moving

Long-distance moving covers state-to-state and cross-country jobs leaving Sunnyvale. Shipments travel on dedicated trucks. Packing and furniture protection work the same way they do on a local move.

Moving an Eichler or Mid-Century Ranch Home

Sunnyvale holds roughly 1,100 Eichler homes across about 16 tracts, concentrated in the 94087 neighborhoods of Birdland, Ponderosa Park, Cherry Chase, and Fairbrae. They are the reason a house move here is not the same as moving into an apartment.

Glass Walls and Atrium Entries

Eichlers are post-and-beam houses built around floor-to-ceiling glass and open atrium plans. The glass runs from slab to roofline in the main rooms, so the carry path is narrower than the room looks and most corners are a pivot next to a pane. Tell us ahead of the date if the atrium is the only route to the back bedrooms, and we will size the load accordingly.

Radiant Slab Floors

Many Sunnyvale Eichlers still run their original radiant heating inside the concrete slab. Nothing heavy gets dragged across those floors. We lay protection down before the first item comes through and carry rather than slide, which is slower and is the only safe way to do it.

Downtown Sunnyvale, Cityline, and the Murphy Avenue Closure

Downtown has changed shape. The Cityline master plan covers 36 acres in the core of downtown, bounded roughly by South Mathilda and Sunnyvale Avenues and Washington and Iowa Avenues, and it has added around 1,100 apartments, including The Martin, a 12-story building that is the tallest downtown. Moves into those addresses run on basement and structured parking, a reserved elevator, and a booked loading point rather than on-street curb space.
The 100 block of South Murphy Avenue is closed to vehicles and is being rebuilt as a permanent pedestrian mall, so no truck is pulling up to a door on that block. The carry comes off the surrounding streets instead, and the distance is worth knowing before move day rather than on it. Ask your building for its move-in window and its certificate of insurance requirements as soon as you sign, because those windows are fixed and often weekday only.

Parking and Curb Access for a Sunnyvale Move

Two things decide how the day runs. Where the truck can sit, and whether your block is permit-controlled.

The 72-Hour Limit and Permit Parking Districts

Sunnyvale Municipal Code 10.16.120 makes it unlawful to leave a vehicle on any street, alley, or public parking facility for 72 consecutive hours or more, so you can’t leave a truck in place for a multi-day job. Several neighborhoods near downtown and the Caltrain station are designated permit parking districts, where parking is limited to residents holding a valid permit. Check whether your block is in one before you book the date.

Guest Permits Come From Public Works

If you live in a residential parking permit area, the city issues guest permits valid for 24 hours through the Department of Public Works, and one of those is worth collecting for the truck. You need to apply in person with a valid driver’s license during counter hours. Do it the week before, not the morning of.

Closing a Lane Takes a City Permit

Work inside the public right-of-way in Sunnyvale requires an encroachment permit under Chapter 13.08 of the municipal code, and closing one or two neighborhood streets requires a block party permit; neither fits a household moving timeline. Tell us early if your street is narrow enough that a parked truck would block traffic, and we will plan a shuttle instead.

Sunnyvale Moving Questions We Get Asked

Do I need a parking permit for a moving truck in Sunnyvale?

Usually not. Street parking is legal for a normal move day, but if your block sits inside a residential parking permit district, collect a 24-hour guest permit from the Department of Public Works first. A city permit only applies if the job requires closing a lane or a street.

Can a moving truck park on Murphy Avenue?

Not on the 100 block. That block is closed to vehicles while the pedestrian mall is being built, so loading happens from the surrounding streets. We check the carry distance and plan the route before the date.

Do you move Eichler homes?

Yes, and we handle them differently than a standard house. Glass walls, atrium entries, and original radiant slab floors all change the carry path and the protection we put down first.

Can you move me from Sunnyvale to another Bay Area city?

Yes. Local moving covers Sunnyvale and the surrounding cities, including Cupertino, Santa Clara, and Palo Alto. Moves out of state run on the long-distance service instead.

Do you handle office moves in Moffett Park?

Yes. Commercial moving covers offices, R&D suites, and lab space across Moffett Park and the Peery Park district. We handle modular workstations, network equipment, and file storage in the same job.
